AMDG Autumn Series Dressage May 2012

Another gorgeous Autumn day at Clevedon show grounds on Monument Road. The grounds were prepared beautifully as usual and the facilities at Clevedon are always well run and the staff friendly and helpful.

We were late getting our entries in this show so unforntunately had to take the only scratchings for the day which did not give the horses and riders much time to warm up in a busy atmosphere. As young horses this was a good experience for them as they had to settle quickly amongst a lot of distractions.

MANUKA MAGNI

As usual Manuka Magni referred to warm up in the “Big Persons” arena where there was even more action. We think he likes to show off a little… Magni has again grown behind so today he was a little unbalanced in his work but at this staage in his career it’s all about going forward and allowing the freedom of the shoulders to come through. He has a very soft mouth and is extremely flexible in his neck and body. His canter work is improving as he learns to balance himself.

MANUKA MEILEKKE

Manuka Meilekke was a little excited. Now that this was her second taste of competition she just wanted to get out there and be first up. She behaved very well in her test considering there was a small child in a tutu flapping her blue cardigan in the air amongst the audience.  She was so proud of herself and knew exactly where that judges car was.

MANUKA SOUTHERN CROSS

FIRST PLACE IN THE SERIES POINTS TABLE IN NOVICE

INTIMO DRESSAGE SERIES

Manuka Southern Cross again amazed us. His trot work was superb and his shoulder extension is especially exciting to watch today. He is really starting to use his body well and always tries his best. A super friendly horse who wants to please.
