Manuka Southern Cross / Manuka Magni

Daylight saving has begun, so it’s back into full work again after a very sodden winter.

Spring grass is here again so everyone is “feeling good”.

We will be preparing Manuka Southern Cross for Elementary this season finishing at Medium/Open Medium Level dressage with maybe a horse trial here and there for a bit of a change of routine. His rider from last season Pippa Dearing is taking a short break from Horse Trials this season so we have decided to place him for sale. He is a great all-rounder and would excel in Horse Trials or Dressage. He has been in our stable now for 10 years as he is such a versatile horse and has been enjoyed by everyone here.  Expressions of interest are welcome and we would like to place him with an experienced and dedicated rider who will enjoy him as much as we have. Southern loves his work and is always waiting at the gate each morning.

Magni and Cecilia Karlsson have spent the winter concentrating on building on strength and balance as Magni has been growing like a mushroom. He has just turned 6 and he is now ready for a great season starting at Novice Level dressage and if all goes well he will progress onto Elementary within a short period of time. We have had to wait for him to mature before pressing too many “buttons”. He is ready now and we believe Magni is Grand Prix potential. He has the conformation, the athletic ability and the temperament to take him to Grandprix within a relatively short period of time under the direction of his trainer.

Magni’s full sister Manuka Meilekke is presently with Grand Prix rider Sally Issacs in Whakatane. Meilekke is progressing well and will be coming out this season at Medium Level dressage and we wish Sally a great season on her.
